LevelScope privacy policy

Last updated: October 8, 2026

LevelScope does not collect, send or share any data. Everything you measure stays on your phone.

What data the app handles

Everything is stored in a database inside the app’s private storage, which other apps cannot access.

What it does not do

Sensors and permissions

The app reads the phone’s motion sensors (accelerometer, gyroscope, magnetometer, and the gravity and orientation sensors) only while a measuring tool is on screen. Android does not require a permission for these sensors. Readings are processed on the spot and are not stored, except for a measurement you choose to save.

The only permission it uses is vibration, to alert you when a target is reached. You can turn it off in Settings.

When data leaves the phone

Only when you export measurements to a CSV or JSON file and choose, in Android’s share menu, which app to send it to. From that point the file is subject to the rules of the app you chose.

How to delete your data

Because there is no cloud copy, deleted data cannot be recovered. If you change phones, export your measurements first.

Children

The app is not directed at children and, since it collects no data from anyone, it collects none from children.

Changes to this policy

If a future version changes any of the above (for example, to calculate true north from your location), this policy will be updated first and the app will ask for the corresponding permission.
